Database Requirements User Manager Pro Suite has extremely powerful reporting capabilities that can generate an enormous amount of data. By default, User Manager Pro Suite will use the built-in registry of the operating system to store data and the settings of the program. This option will work for a simple evaluation of User Manager Pro Suite on a few systems with some simple reports. However, if you will be performing an in depth evaluation of User Manager Pro Suite or are putting this product into production, you must use an SQL Express or SQL database for your reporting data store. SQL Express is free but is has significant limitations that cause most users of User Manager Pro Suite to utilize the full Microsoft SQL Server package. There are concurrent connection limits and size database limitations. SQL Express is only recommended for testing situations. If leveraging the NTFS reporting option, SQL Express is not recommended. Switching to SQL Server removes all of the size and complexity limitations and improves performance by orders of magnitude (x10-x100). |
